In an article I wrote, I lectured that trust is not the most important thing in a relationship. It’s respect. Respect for privacy, freedom, self-expression, passions, dreams & shortcomings. Unlike trust, it isn’t easily broken & unlike love, it isn’t given freely. You have to work hard to earn one’s respect & when you finally have it, everything else—love, support, time, loyalty—follows. (Excerpt, BBLOG ON)
